To the University
I have served on all kinds of committees at the university, including the Faculty Senate, School Ph.D. committee, the Post Graduate Curriculum Committees, the Governance Committee, and the University P&T Appeals Committee. I believe in faculty governance and in being inclusive in arriving at decisions pertaining to faculty.
To Academia
I am the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Information System Security, besides serving on the editorial board of many other journals, including the Journal of Strategic Information Systems, Information & Management, Internet Research, Business Process Management Journal. In the past, I have also been an Associate Editor of the European Journal of Information Systems, The North American Regional Editor of the International Journal of Information Management, among others.
I am the ongoing Chair of the Annual Security Conference and have held leadership roles as Conference Chair, Program Chair, and Organizing Chair of many other events. I also hold leadership roles within the Association of Information Systems as Chair of the Security Specialist Interest Group and the International Federation of Information Processing as Chair of the Technical Committee 11.1.
To the Community
I am actively involved with a range of community outreach programs in Richmond, Virginia and beyond. I am an active member of the FBI Infragard program and am currently serving as a Vice-President. I am also the Co-Chair of the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists for Richmond.
